Allura Does Arus

“Form blazing sword!” Keith commanded.

Voltron’s hands came together and in a blinding light the famous sword appeared. The robeast stood still for a moment, then charged, its thick powerful legs shaking the ground with every step.

“Here it comes,” stated Pidge.

“Wait for it…” Keith told him. Keith’s eyes were glued to his view screen as the image of the robeast grew larger.

“Anytime now, Keith…” Lance said, indicating his impatience.

“Just a few more seconds,” Keith assured him.

The robeast rushed up to Voltron, swiping at him with its large claws.

“Power jump now,” Keith commanded. Flames shot out from beneath Voltron’s feet, launching him into a somersault that took him right over the robeast’s head. The robeast’s claws struck the ground where Voltron had stood only a moment before and the robeast’s eyes widened in surprise and anger.

“Do it now, Lance,” Keith yelled.

Voltron landed on his feet just behind the robeast and before the robeast could react, Lance stabbed backwards, jamming the blazing sword through the robeast’s back and chest. With a cry of pain and anguish, the robeast slid off the sword and onto the ground and exploded. Off in the distance a strangely shaped starfighter took off and headed for space.

“Curse you, Voltron Force. You may have defeated me today, but I will be back,” Lotor said to himself. “And I will defeat you.”

That evening the Voltron Force celebrated their victory over the forces of Doom.

“When is Lotor gonna learn? No one can defeat Voltron,” said Pidge confidently.

“Yeah, we’ve destroyed every robeast every sent to Arus. You’d think they’d be running out of them by now,” Hunk said.

“Let’s not get over-confident,” Keith told them. “It’s true that we’ve defeated the Forces of Doom every time they attack, but if we get too cocky it will be easy for them to defeat us.”

“Keith is right,” Allura spoke up. “We cannot let our guard down, no matter how many times we defeat Lotor.”

“Would you two relax,” Lance said. “Lotor and his father couldn’t lead ants to a picnic, let alone lead their armies to victory against us.”

Back on Planet Doom, King Zarkon was anything but happy.

“King Zarkon, your son has arrived,” Haggar stated from her perch beside the king’s throne.

The great doors to the throne room opened and Prince Lotor marched proudly across the room and knelt before his father.

“Your surprisingly fast return from Arus can only lead me to believe that you were defeated yet again, my son.”

“My apologies father,” Lotor said, never looking up at his king. “I may have been defeated, but next time I will…”

“No!” Zarkon interrupted his son.

Lotor remained in a kneeling position but raised his head to see his father standing over him.

“There will be no ‘next time’ for you, Lotor. Time and again you have wasted the valuable resources of Doom in your foolish quest to capture Princess Allura and defeat the mighty Voltron.” King Zarkon regained his seat, but his menacing stare never left his son. “You are a pathetic warrior, Lotor. With all the planets that we have conquered, and all those that are waiting to be conquered, you waste time by obsessing over one pitifully weak and invaluable planet.”

“Father, are you saying that we forget about conquering Arus?”

King Zarkon hesitated a moment, forming his words carefully. “I’m saying that we need to reallocate our remaining resources on those planets that are defenseless so that we may rebuild the lost resources that you have squandered.”

“This is madness,” Lotor said as he stood. “If we turn our backs on Planet Arus now, it will give hope to all our enemies. No planet would bow before our mighty empire. Voltron must be defeated in order to show the galaxy that we have the power to rule.”

“Planet Arus is off limits until further notice,” Zarkon said sternly. “You will not engage the Voltron Force without my permission. Do you understand me?”

“But father…”

“But nothing! You will do as I say.”

Lotor gritted his teeth. “You will regret this…father. Mark my words.” Lotor turned his back to his father and started walking towards the throne’s large doors.

“Do not defy me, Lotor,” Zarkon called after his son. “I will not accept insubordination, not even from you.”

Zarkon’s words fell on deaf ears. Lotor stormed out of the throne room, angry and upset, but more determined than ever to prove his father wrong.

Zarkon sighed heavily as the doors slammed shut behind Lotor. “I want you to follow him, Haggar.”

“Why, my Lord?” she asked.

“Because I know my son, and he’s going to ignore my orders.”

“What do you want me to do incase he does?”

Zarkon gave Haggar a cold stare. “I want you to stop him. Lotor will learn that until he becomes King, he cannot do whatever pleases him, especially if it threatens MY empire.”

“As you wish; my lord.” Haggar bowed her head to her king as she stood up.

“And Haggar,” Zarkon continued. “I will not accept insubordination from you, either.”

“I understand, King Zarkon.” In a cloud of smoke Haggar disappeared from view.

Zarkon thought for a moment then motioned for one of his aids.

“Yes, my king?” the aid asked as he bowed.

“Summon Commander Cossack; I have an assignment for him.”

Allura reached out from behind the shower curtain and grabbed the towel hanging from wall hook. She wrapped it around herself then stepped out into the bathroom, her body gave a shiver as it transitioned from the hot air of the shower to the chilly air of the bathroom. Allura picked up her hairbrush and began work on her thick, blonde hair. Her thoughts were on the conversation at dinner.

“When will Lotor give up?” she thought to herself. “Doesn’t he understand that I am not attracted to him?” Her thoughts turned to those of Keith’s words. “What if we get too arrogant and Voltron does get defeated?” her mind asked. “What if Lotor does win and I am captured? Will Keith be able to rescue me?”

She laid the brush down onto the sink and slid the towel off her body. She stood before the full length mirror, admiring her perfect body. She watched as a droplet of water slid down her breast and onto her nipple. She reached up and touched the droplet with her index finger, rubbing the water over her skin. She sighed.

“I wish Keith would touch me,” she thought to herself. Beginning with her breasts, she ran her hands over her body, letting her fingertips trace lightly over her skin. “Only in my dreams,” she thought. She reached over and pulled her night gown off a small table beside the sink and slid it on over her head; the thin, silky fabric clinging to her body wherever water remained.

She looked at herself in the mirror again. “Every guy in the universe would love to see this, every guy except Keith,” she said out loud. Sighing again she left the bathroom and slid into bed.

Lotor barged into the robeast holding pen, startling the guards on duty.

“Prince Lotor, what do we owe the pleasure?” asked one of the guards shakily.
“Show me the strongest robeast that you have,” he commanded.

“Yes, sire. Right this way.” The guard led Lotor down a hallway past several office doors then took him down a flight of stairs to the holding cells.

The holding cells consisted of many intersecting hallways, with robeasts held behind prison bars made of pure energy. Some snarled while others growled. One managed to grab Lotor’s shoulder as he walked by. Being in the foul mood that he was in, Lotor pulled away from the beast, unsheathed his sword and stabbed the creature through the stomach. The robeast howled in pain. It fell to the floor, clutching its stomach as thick, green blood poured from the wound.

Continuing through the prison, the guard led Lotor to the very back corner. Located there was the largest prison cell. The cell was easily three times as big as the rest and was isolated. There was no light within the holding cell, Lotor was having trouble believing that there was anything in there.

“Why is there no light?” asked the Prince.

“The creature is sensitive to light, my Lord.”

“What good does it do me to have a creature that can’t go out in the day time?” Lotor was about to punch the inept guard when he was distracted by a plume of smoke rising from the floor.

“What do you want, old witch?”

The smoke thickened then vanished, leaving only the wrinkled, cloak covered form of Haggar in its place. “I came to offer my services to you, Lotor.”

“I’m sick of your services. You have failed me time and again and I have no desire to lose due to your inefficient magic.”

“But my Prince, I have a plan to help you complete both of your goals, the defeat of Voltron and the capture of Princess Allura’s heart.”

Lotor turned to the guard who had escorted him down to the holding cells. “Leave us now.”

The guard bowed to the prince and left in a hurry.

“Speak, old witch.”

“I have a spell that will make Allura unable to resist your charms. She will desire you uncontrollably and will insatiably hunger for your touch,” Haggar said with a wicked grin.

Lotor thought for a moment. The plan interested him but he still doubted the effectiveness of the plan. The possibility of Allura wanting him, needing him, desiring him, even if it was the result of a spell, warranted consideration. “What’s in this for you?” he asked the witch.

“King Zarkon is getting old. He may be immune to magic potions and spells, but he is not immune to age.” Haggar’s grin grew. “But you; my Prince. You have the advantage of youth. I can foresee a long, healthy rule for you.” Haggar started walking around Lotor slowly, her words taking on an almost hypnotic tone. “It would only serve me to serve one who is as powerful as you and once you are King, you will be even more powerful than your father.”

Lotor was completed enraptured by Haggar’s words. He hung on every sound, every syllable. He began to mentally see himself sitting on the throne and ruling over the galaxy.

Haggar knew she had Lotor but continued her words. “With Allura by your side, the Voltron Force will be unable to fight you. You will be able to take control of Voltron and use him to expand your empire.”

Lotor was lost in the scenario that Haggar had played out. To be ruler of the galaxy with Allura by his side and Voltron under his control, Lotor felt as though his destiny had just been laid out for him. He finally spoke as Haggar came back around to face him. “What do you need in order to accomplish this?”

“I merely need your support; my Prince.”

“Then do it,” Lotor said eagerly.

“As you wish; my Prince.”

Lotor left the holding area, leaving Haggar alone with the Night Beast. With great ease she stepped through the bars and approached the robeast. Two bright yellow eyes pierced the darkness and focused on her. Haggar stood just inside the cell, watching the robeast carefully.

“Fear not, my pet. I will not harm you,” she said softly to the beast. “I am here to free you of your imprisonment. I have a nice, wide open planet for you to destroy and plenty of fragile humans to play with.”

The yellow eyes suddenly rose up. The beast, still encased by the darkness towered twenty feet above the witch. A deep, blood curdling howl escaped from the inky blackness of the cell.

Cossack entered the King’s throne and crossed the giant floor quickly. “You called for me; my King?” Cossack asked as he knelt before Zarkon.

“Yes Cossack, I have a mission for you.”

“Yes, sire. What do you wish for me to do?”

“I have a small armada massing in the asteroid belt just outside the orbit of Planet Allebas. I want you to go there and capture the planet. The planet is rich in resources and slave labor. It will help offset the numerous losses endured from the Arus campaign.”

“But sire what about Arus? Aren’t we attacking…”

Zarkon cut him off sharply. “We will not be attacking Arus any longer. My worthless son has wasted enough men and ships in his pitiful attempts of capturing Princess Allura. Now, do what I ask and do not return until Allebas is under Doom control!”

“Yes sire!” Cossack stood and attempted to about-face, but he lost his balance and stumped, almost ended up in the floor. Saluting embarrassingly, he rushed out of the great throne room.

“Is it too much to ask for competent help?” Zarkon asked himself.
