Chapter One
© Salome Wilde, 2008
Author’s Note: I really enjoy Yamila Abraham’s writing, and her yaoi manga Winter Demon (especially as illustrated by Le Peruggine) is ripe for fan fiction, I think. I don’t know how many readers I’ll get because I had to ask for a category (so I’m the first to publish on the title here), but between the summary below, the hot demon action, the rather straightforward romance/angst/sex premise of this story, and a few beloved regular readers, I’m hoping it will find an audience and a few reviews. If you like it, please do let me know.
Winter Demon Overview for those who need it (SPOILER, of course): Hakuin is a beautiful, shy (uke) monk with long, silky black hair. He was kidnapped and raped by the vain, tall, slender, ice-blue-haired and equally beautiful Winter Demon Fuyu, who also has horns, pointed ears, and furred hooves. A need for a demon to save Hakuin’s village from an even more sadistic trio of Fire Demons brings Fuyu back (he’s been missing and craving Hakuin, meanwhile, for Hakuin’s presence has a purifying effect on Fuyu). After Fuyu himself is chained and raped by Lord Ratsu, leader of the Fire Demons (Seme all the way), he must face the truth of his own misuse of Hakuin (and others). This and other circumstances create a loving relationship between the monk and the demon (though Hakuin will not let Fuyu take him anally and only lets Fuyu serve him orally with reluctance). Also introduced is the handsome, dark-skinned, muscular (Seme) Incubus Figaru, who is both lusty and dedicated to the well-being of humans. Circumstances in Volume 3 build to the point that Figaru is wasting away for lack of sex (gotta love a creature who needs to give regular anal to serve his Goddess properly), and Hakuin, though increasingly possessive of Fuyu, willingly sends him to Figaru to ease the suffering Incubus. The reader is treated to the delights of lots of sex with Figaru Topping or (riding Fuyu’s cock roughly) and it’s a bit comic too as Fuyu struggles against uke status with Figaru, but he also gets some pleasure. We do not see how Hakuin reacts back in his room. We only know he wakes when Fuyu returns to Hakuin’s bed. Fuyu comically complains about his sore ass, and Hakuin welcomes him back. Hakuin seems to have been asleep while the two demons romped, but I thought a story that would show his loving, anxious, and aroused thoughts (and some stealthy actions) while Fuyu was with Figaru would be tasty....
Hakuin’s Sacrifice
Chapter One
When had he come to think of Fuyu as beautiful? Not while he was the demon’s slave, certainly. That abuse had left him scarred, lost. Only the urging of his fellow monks had enabled him not to take his own life. Fuyu’s coldness, not only as a Demon of Ice but as a being entirely blind to the suffering of others, had shocked and terrified him, had left him weeping for all of human- and demonkind. But since they had come to be together again, since Fuyu had shown both remorse and a willingness, however reluctant, to help others in need, Hakuin had become able to look at Fuyu with fresh eyes. And those eyes were filled, daily, with the sight of a cool, unearthly beauty that awed him, drew him, and inspired love and—yes—passion.
Much of his beauty was obvious: that iced silk for hair, trailing down to the small of his barely-clad back. Those small, perfect features, crowned by the alien allure of slender, pointed ears and spiraling horns that he had not yet had the courage to touch. Perhaps most alien and most irresistible of all were his hooves. Wreathed in long, lush fur that trailed up his calves, Hakuin had shuddered when they brushed across his own pale skin in the night. When he nestled himself into Fuyu’s strong, possessive embrace, he was treated to both the familiarity of a body whose gender and leanness mirrored his own and to the newness of Fuyu’s willowy stature, his demonic features, and the undeniable power that radiated from his every pore. That this power was largely sexual and entirely magnetic was something Hakuin hated to admit to himself and, especially, to Fuyu. The more Fuyu knew of Hakuin’s feelings for him, the more he pressed his advantage. Hakuin blushed, thinking again of the bath, when Fuyu had stood behind and kept him on his knees, his soft lips and tongue giving pleasures Hakuin would never have guessed existed.
Other humans seemed to be immune to Fuyu’s charms. So fearful were they of his destructive capabilities and his selfish, aloof bearing that they did not see or feel what Hakuin did. Indeed, the monk himself marveled that his own response had changed so dramatically. He had more cause than most to loathe the capricious Winter Demon. But he could not. When they were together, Hakuin’s pure soul cleansed Fuyu, and, even more astonishingly, the demon brought both comfort and desire for life and love to the doubtful monk. Nevertheless, though undeniably bonded to Fuyu now, the monk was not ready to yield himself again. No, that left him feeling too vulnerable, too shamed. But perhaps someday…
Would that someday truly come? Hakuin’s thoughts turned from his own uncertainty to the Figaru’s assuredness. The Incubus served humankind with a dedication that rivaled even the most committed monk’s, and with a power that no human could match. He was also even more deeply sexually magnetic than Fuyu, with his magnificently muscled frame and rich brown skin; his waist-length ebony hair, wide brown eyes, and full lips. It was right that Fuyu should give himself to this noble demon, should aid him in regenerating his strength and serving his Goddess. Had Hakuin not declared it, with full confidence? Even more, had he not made plain his own jealousy at Fuyu giving himself to anyone other than the worthy Figaru? He blushed at the strength of his confession and at the remembered look of shock in Fuyu’s frost-blue eyes.
Fuyu was there, now…beneath Figaru’s imposing body, no doubt. How would he be taking it? With bodily and vocal reluctance, no doubt. Though he understood how hesitant Figaru himself was to impose his needs on anyone, Fuyu was such a prideful creature. He would be resisting being put in a vulnerable position, wheedling some compromise, wishing it were over. Hakuin smiled to himself, enjoying the thought that his Fuyu would do this act—for his monk as well as because it was the right thing to do for the selfless Incubus. How good it was to see the changes in Fuyu. And more: how good it was to know Fuyu went so reluctantly, and would return to his bed even more desirous of Hakuin and no other.
Hakuin’s brow wrinkled. Or would he? Figaru was perhaps the most handsome creature Hakuin had ever seen. No, he could not match Fuyu’s lithe, elegant carriage and pale beauty, but he was a force to be reckoned with in many ways. Perhaps Hakuin’s repeated rejection of Fuyu’s passionate aggression and his resistance even to being pleasured by him would make Fuyu’s experience with Figaru welcome. Perhaps his protestations to giving himself to Figaru were more an attempt to convince himself—or Hakuin—of his disinterest than he truly felt. Even now he imagined Figaru’s long tail thrashing out behind him as he mounted and rode sweet Fuyu. He pictured Fuyu’s open mouth, crying out in ecstasy as Figaru held him in his arms and stroked him to blissful release—as he had forbidden Hakuin to do. Until Hakuin would yield and let Fuyu take him, he had refused any active pleasuring by the monk. This hurt Hakuin, for he wanted to bring Fuyu happiness. He just needed time.
Figaru, by contrast, was a creature of immediate needs. What delights was his beloved Winter Demon exploring this moment with one of his own kind that he could not with the reluctant monk? What heights of pleasure were they reaching together while Hakuin lay in his bed, telling himself pretty lies of a reluctant Fuyu servicing a self-denying Figaru for the sake only of his health and his devotion to his Goddess? Hakuin threw back his blanket and sat, bolt upright, in his bed. What if his gesture to Figaru lost him Fuyu forever?
