Love Like Winter
*Prologue*
The dream is always the same. I'm sitting on mama's lap and she is braiding my long black hair. I can feel her pulse it's fast and she seemes nervous and her hands are shaking. It's been two months since papa died and she says that I need to pay off his debts. I don't know what she means. But I'll be a good boy and do what I'm told. Then mama makes my wear big sisters yukata. It's to big for me but mama rolls up the sleeves and tells me she loves me. Her big sky blue eyes are red like shes been crying. She always cries especialy since papa died. She kissed my forehead and squeezes me real tight when she hears a man outside. Her arms feel so good around me I wish I could be protected by them always.
" Aozora I want you to do what ever the man tells you okay." She whispers as she ties a ribbon into my hair and opens the curtain.
There stands the biggest man I've ever seen. He's scary and I don't like him but I smile and bow like mama taught me to. The man squats down next to me and lifts my head upt o face him. His hands are rough and he reaks of sake and sweat.
"Wow such pretty eyes you have.What's you name girl?" He asks me.
His voice is rough and deep. It reminds me of the sound water makes when your drop a stone in it. He begins to play with my hair and twirl it around his finger , this makes me nervous.
"A-Aozora-Chan" I whisper and look at my feet. I cant stand to look at his face , his face reminds me of the face papa would get on his face when he drank right before he would hit mama.
"Would you and your sister like to come home with me?" He asks as he licks his lips and looks over at Yuna-Chan who is crying to.
I don't quite understand why Yuna and mama are crying but I don't like this man but he seems to really like me. Mama told me to do what ever he wanted. Does she not want me anymore? Is she giving me away? Maybe I was bad...maybe I'm being punished.
"Do I have to?" I mummble.
The man licks his lips again and whsipers in my ear his beard is prickly and it hurts me a bit. His mouth smells of sake and under cooked meat. He tells me that if I'm not a good girl he's gonna have to kill mama. He tells me that I should be scared of him if I'm a good girl he tells me he's gonna make me beatiful, make me a geisha. I dont want that but after he gets Yuna-Chan onto the horse he takes me with him. I look back to see if mama is still at the door, and she is. She crying real hard harder than I've ever seen her cry before.
