Prologue
It's been a while since I posted anything but I'm seriously getting into fic writing again! Yay!
Anywho...enjoy!

Prologue
Snow falls in sheets down to the ground. The faint lights of cars try in vain to get through the clumped flakes.
I watch as they fail.
People never learn. Every year it’s the same thing. When the weather is this bad people should stay inside. Nothing should make anyone come out in this. I hug my arms around myself and shiver. I suppose I’m a hypocrite for thinking this. At least my excuse is legitimate. Life in an orphanage isn’t exactly the ideal of lifestyles. I prefer the cold to that. And the falling snow looks beautiful against the dark, cloudy sky.
A car suddenly swerves towards me. All it takes is a single thought to stop it before it hits me. The driver hits his head on the steering wheel and I can hear foreign curses. He steps from the car, orange hair spilling down his shoulders, blue pained eyes looking at the front of his car. He looks over at me then.
His eyes focus on me and the frown he wore changes to an amused, sharp smirk.
“Hey, kid.” His Japanese has a nasal accent. “Tonight is your lucky night.”
“I doubt that.”
I roll my eyes and start to walk away. I only feel a slight draft before he’s in front of me somehow. No ordinary human can move that fast. What is he?
His smirk seems to widen. I glare at him cautiously. //You’ll have to come with me to find out.//
I take a step back, eyes wide. His lips didn’t move. How could I hear his voice then? Do I really want to know? No...I don’t think I do. I’d like to think I’m smarter than being tricked by some foreign man. But...I don’t think he’d just let me go. I might have to rip him apart first. Will it get out of hand like last time, though?
{{...faces forever looking tortured...buildings crumbling...the pain of wanting it to stop...}}
“We can help you control that Talent of yours.” His smirk takes on a lazy slant.
Who’s “we”?
“Schwarz.”
“Stop reading my mind!” The snow stops falling around me and I close my eyes, controlling my anger. The snow falls like normal.
“See. You need us.” He starts back to his car and slides into the driver’s seat.
Does he really think I’ll just go with him? If anything, I could get from “Schwarz” what I need then take them apart afterwards. And if he is lying to me...I’ll deal with the consequences when I’m done. I move slowly to his car and get in the passenger’s side. The heat is on full blast and I sink lower into my seat, clicking my seatbelt into place.
