Author's Pre-fiction Ramblings

And here's another Card Captors saga from me! I don't own the characters in this story. Most of the original characters and cards belong to my good and deer friend whiteshirt. Without him, I don't think I'd be half as good with my Card Captors fic. As the title implies, I'm retelling the card capturing saga. They are all thirteen except for the older characters like Julian and Tori. They are both 15-18. Now, this is based on the dubbed names so don't cry to me about using the crappy American version. It's not my fault Nelvana sucks. Also, forgive me if I can't remember the chants Sakura uses.

A green eyed girl enters her house. She locks the door and heads upstairs. Once entering her bedroom, she drops the backpack on her bed.
"Math, ugh!" she shouts out to herself. "I hate math....,it's just so hard." she moans. She sighs to herself and decides to get out her books and study before her brother got home. He just loved to torment her about her lack of skills with numbers. She then hears a sound coming from the basement. She bites her lip. Had someone gotten in and she didn't know? She quickly exits her room and heads down to the basement.

"Hello! Is there someone here?" the girl calls out. She knew that wasn't the brightest thing to do, but she was too trusting of a soul. She sees that one of the books that her father brought back from his many digs had fallen on the floor. Picking it up, she sees the front cover with a winged lion and the sun. Feeling drawn to open it, she does so and sees what appear to be cards. She pulls out a random card and finds one with word 'Windy' written on it.
"Windy?" she says curiously. The moment she says the card's name, a powerful gust of wind starts blowing. She panics and hits the floor trying not to blow away. She doesn't notice that the other cards that had been in the book were now being blown away out of the ventilation system and out into the world. She sighs as she gets to her feet. Her eyes widen seeing what looked like to be an odd stuffed toy now sleeping on the book. She picks up the toy and looks over it closely. the snot bubble pops waking the sleeping creature. It's eyes open to see Sakura holding him.
"Huh? What the...? Ahhh!" it shouts seeing that the cards in the book were gone. "Where are they!? What happened to them!?"
"You can talk?!" Sakura asks in shock.
"You, what did you do?" it asks.
"I came down to the basement after hearing that book that is on the floor fall off the shelf. I opened it and picked out this card and when I said 'Win...'" the girl explains but the creature clamps a hand on her mouth.
"No, don't do it again! Who knows what'll happen if you say its name again!" it shouts. "Hmmm, come to think about it...,you saying it's name shouldn't be able to do this. You shouldn't been able to break the seal on the book." The creature puts a paw on her forehead and its eyes widen. "That explains it! You've got magical powers."
"What? No I don't. And who or what are you?" she asks.
"Oh, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Keroberos. What you see before you is my false form. Unfortunately since all the cards have gone flying out of the book I'm known as just 'Kero' in this form. You might not believe it, but you do have magically powers."
"That's impossible!"
"Oh really, then explain to me how you managed to break the seal. Also, explain to me how Windy had such a reaction to you when you said its name?" Kero asks.
"Dumb luck?" Sakura offers.
"Na-ah, it's destiny. Your latent magic was drawn to the book." Kero smiles. "Ok, so what the name of the new card captor?"
"I'm Sakura, but I'm not a card Captor."
"Oh yes you are. You let the cards free. If left unchecked they will cause havoc across the world."
"What!? Really?"
"Yep."
"But I'm only thirteen!"
"So? You're not much now, but I think you could become something great. Age doesn't matter. Now, let's get out of this basement. I'm starving!" Kero says and Sakura sweats at that comment.

A regal looking woman sits on a mat in a meditative position. Then her eyes widen and lose focus. She was receiving a vision. It was an extremely powerful premonition. Coming out of the trance, she quickly leaves the room. She enters another room with a middle aged gentlemen and a thirteen year old boy with messy. the two were in a magical sparing match. they both stop feeling the woman coming into the room.
"Lee, I've just received a strong premonition about the cards." she begins.
"What did you see, mother?" Lee asks.
"You need to go to Readington and find the one who freed the cards." Lee's mother states.
"The elders would rather him try and take the cards back, mistress." the man states.
"I know this, Wei, but that won't help anything if there two card captors running around trying to compete with each other for the cards."
"A girl?" Lee asks not liking where this was going.
"You will help her, Lee." she states and Lee's protests fall silent. "Wei, prepare Lee's things. I'll inform the elders after you are gone." Lee's mother says smirking.
"You're mother is a shrewd woman, master Lee. Once you are gone the elders won't be able to instruct you to compete for the cards." Wei states and Lee sighs.

'Lee, it is far more important that the two work to gather the cards. Even if you lose in the final judgement, there's something darker waiting out there.' Yelan thinks sitting back on the mat and goes back to meditate on her vision.
