The Cathedral Encounter

Note: This chapter takes place in .hack//roots in between Chapters 1 and 2 of Honeysuckle.

Tabby was feeling very lonely. Nothing seemed to be going well for the cat-girl anymore. The guild she enjoyed being a part of, The Twilight Brigade, had broken up all because the guildmaster, Ovan, had mysteriously disappeared.

Tabby knew very little about the strange Steam Gunner that wore glasses. He rarely appeared and when he did he had the brigade- consisting of Tabby, Shino, Haseo, and Sakisaka- collect weird items called virus cores. Unfortunately, once all of the virus cores were brought together in the lost ground, Coite-Bodher Battlefield, a pillar of light appeared. When Ovan walked into it, he disappeared and he hasn’t been seen since.

Tabby knew that Ovan must have been important to both Shino and Haseo because both of them changed after his disappearance. Haseo became even more distant then he already was and spent most of his time with Shino, and Shino-as acting guildmaster- broke up the Twilight Brigade and changed her outfit to black. Unfortunately, this left Tabby cut off from the people she knew in “The World”. She was not as connected to the group as Ovan, Shino, and Haseo were. What should she do now? Should she quit the game? Should she keep playing? She really didn’t know and decided the best thing to do would be to think about it at the Hulle-Granz Cathedral.

Tabby walked to the Chaos Gate of Mac Anu and input the area words Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground. Instantly the cat-girl was transported outside the calm and mysterious cathedral. She stopped and looked at it in awe, for there really was no other building like it in “The World”. The Hulle-Granz Cathedral was unique. Tabby walked up to the giant building and opened the door not knowing what she would find inside.

Inside the cathedral, Haseo and Shino were on the floor enjoying one of there many sex romps.

“That’s so sweet!’ Tabby said as Shino blushed. Tabby watched them kiss and then blushed and looked away when she remembered that they were naked.

“It seems to be a big secret. I doubt many people know about it,” continued Shino.

Shino smiled and blushed “Thank you” She turned to Tabby. “Good night”
“Good night” replied Tabby “and thanks for everything”.
“No problem” said Haseo. “Maybe we’ll do it again soon.”

Haseo and Shino shared one last kiss and then they both logged out. Tabby followed suit leaving her cat-girl form and becoming an ordinary girl once again. She went to bed and happily fell asleep. For she knew now that she still had a place in “The World” with Haseo and Shino, and she also knew that tomorrow she would continue her adventures in “The World”.
