Chapter 1: Investigation

Okay I am going to say this, just so that you know... THIS IS A NON PORN FANFIC! It just contains issues that I wasn't sure would fly on a normal fanfic site... Such as descriptions of nudity, murder, rape... etc etc etc...

Anyways Chapter 1 is a sort of preview chapter... Enjoy, criticism is desired, if it is constructive. Please send CONSTRUCTIVE comments to drakon7hunter@yahoo.com I do NOT want to receive any ignorant comments please...

Chapter 1: Investigation

Ash Ketchem sat in his office at Pokemon League HQ. He was getting increasingly frustrated over several reports about the recent activities of Team Dread, which was comprised of the remains of the Teams Rocket, Magma, Aqua and Galactic as well as many other individuals. The twenty one year old man growled, crumpling the papers and throwing them across the room in anger. As he struggled to suppress his rage, electric sparks started to arc around his clenched fists.

Ash let go of his anger with a sigh and bent over to collect the fallen papers. As he was sorting them and de-crumpling them a sudden beep from his desk got his attention. The Pokemon Elite walked back to his desk and pressed the button that activated his personal Vid-phone.

An attractive red head appeared on the screen. She had shoulder length red hair and pretty green eyes. She smiled at him, and Ash smiled back. "Yes sweetheart?"

The woman's smile brightened, and Ash felt a stirring in his heart. "Ash, dear, are you going to be home for supper tonight?"

Ash's smile faded. "Sorry, Misty, but I have way too much work to do, and Lance has put me in charge of the three new Team Dread cases..."

Misty sighed sadly, but she still understood. "I know, dear, and I DO understand. Its just that we hardly see each other anymore. And you seem to have withdrawn so much further since the incident that I..."

Ash's eyes hardened at her mentioning that horrible night. "Enough, Misty! I have alot of work to do!" As he finished saying that he pressed the button that cut off the call, effectively hanging up on his wife, cutting her off in mid sentence. He sat in thought for a while before going back to work. He hadn't meant to hurt Misty, after all she was his wife and he loved her deeply. But lately every little thing seemed to set him off, ever since that incident three months ago when he had lost his two best friends... Brock, Pikachu... I miss you guys so much...

Misty sat and stared at the monitor for a moment after Ash hung up on her. She wiped the tears from her eyes and took a few moments to collect herself. When she felt she was both calm and presentable enough she used the phone again. It rang for a few moments before an attractive woman with green hair and dressed in a towel answered it.

"Oh, hi, Misty." The other woman greeted with a smile. "Whats up?"

"Erika could you come over tonight? Ash is working late again, and with all the things that have happened lately I... I don't want to be alone again..." The red headed gym leader asked with tears in her eyes again.

"Sure, Misty, its no problem. Just give me a few minutes to get dressed and I'll be over right away." The green haired woman said to her friend, hiding the worry she felt for her.

Misty nodded and hung up her end of the call. She moved into the living room and though about how different Ash had become and fought against the urge to break down and cry.

He'd always been a little messy, especially his hair, but lately she needed to remind him to shave sometimes even to shower. And he was moody, it seemed that half the things she said to him only served to drive him further away. She knew he blamed himself for what happened, and maybe deep down she knew he was right.

She sat their, finally breaking down and crying as she thought about how blissful they had been a year ago when they first got married, at the wedding Brock had been the one to give her away. She used to blush at the mere thought of the wedding night, how awkward they both had been. But that was in the past, now Ash didn't touch her... Not since the incident...

She was still crying when Erika got their. The other woman was able to enter easily for she was one of the few people Misty knew she could rust enough to give the secret password to their house. As soon as she was through the door Erika rushed to Misty and put her arms comfortingly around her friend and fellow gym leader. Holding her tight she whispered soothing words to the weeping woman. "Shh sweetie... It'll be okay, Ash'll snap out of it soon and he will find the ones who were responsible."

Ash was sleeping on the couch in his office when the door slid open and Lance, Lorelai and Falkner stepped through. Falkner walked over to the sleeping man and poked him roughly in the head. "Yo, Ketchem, wake your lazy ass up!"

Lance gave Falkner a glare and spoke softly. "Agent Ketchem, at attention."

Hearing his captain's voice Ash groggily but quickly got to his feet. He stood there unsteadily as he tried to clear all the cobwebs out of his head.

Lance walked over and placed his hand on Ash's shoulder. "Ash. We just received a tip. The Team Dread members responsible for what happened... We know where they are."

Ash immediately woke up his groggy expression turning grim. "Captain are you certain? We've had false tips before."

Lance nodded at Lorelai who stood quietly with Falkner, the flying gym leader turned agent wearing a crazed grin. "Lorelai says that the this is a very good tip, and her informant has never led her astray before"

Falkner chose this moment to speak. "Yeah, Ketchem, we can finally get those bastards who killed my sister and your friends."

Ash nodded and grabbed his belt, which contained his pokeballs and gun. "I'm ready, Captain." He said coldly.

Eleven hours later the Strike team was ready to advance on the building that was said to hold those who Ash had been trying to track down for the last three months. He could barely contain his anger as he watched the building for any sign of a trap. Lance gave the signal for Ash and Falkner to move in. They were supposed to scope out the inside and signal Lance and Lorelai to come in for the true assault.

The two trainers entered the building quietly, Ash moving stealthily and Falkner gliding gently over the ground on a pair of light brown wings that had sprouted from his back.

Suddenly the lights came on, blinding the two trainers. A rock spike flew through the air from behind the lights and pierced Falkner in the chest, shredding his back and one of his wings as it shot through him. The flying trainer dropped to the ground with a ragged scream of agony.

Lance, hearing the scream started moving towards the warehouse. "Lorelai! Something has gone wrong here! We have to throw the plan to the wind and help them!"

The Dragon Master, hearing no response, turned back to his female companion. Lorelai met his gaze with a lazy smile that never reached her eyes. Lance narrowed his eyes at her and spoke in a demanding tone. "Lorelai, whats going on? Why aren't you moving to help them?"

The beautiful Ice Master drifted forwards gracefully to touch Lance's cheek. When she spoke her voice was a soft and sensual whisper. "Oh Lance, you poor misguided fool. You should have known better then to trust me after what you and the league did to me..."

"What WE did to YOU?!" Asked Lance incredulously as he watched his friend. "Loralai you did that to yourself!"

"Tsk tsk Lance, that's neither here nor there." She removed her hand from his cheek leaving behind a thin layer of ice. Lance rubbed at it with his hand, trying to take the stinging numbness away. He gave Lorelai a pleading look.

"Lorelai, please don't do this. Your history with the league with the Elite Four of Kanto... Your just going to throw that all away? We've been friends for years!"

"Yes! Friends!" She spat out angrily. "We've only ever been friends, haven't we Lance? Did you ever think that maybe I wanted more? But NO! The only woman you have eyes for is that Jhoto slut!"

Lance watched Lorelai warily, knowing that his friend was gone and he would have to wait for the right moment to strike. She just had to give him an opening. The Ice Master walked in a circle around the Dragon Master, frost forming in her footsteps her breath fogging in the air. "But she doesn't matter anymore. I took care of her last night..."

The Pokemon League Captain's eyes turned into reptilian slits. He spoke to Lorelai through clenched teeth that were turning to fangs even as the words were leaving his mouth. "What did you do to Claire, Lorelai..."

Lorelai laughed a cold, emotionless laugh. "Isn't it amazing, Great Dragon Master, what those of your type do when exposed to the pure cold of a blizzard? Your little slut died frozen, clutching and trying to protect the child that came from your 'love'."

Lance's eyes widened and he screamed his rage and grief to the heavens as draconic wings erupted from his back and claws ripped through his gloves. Tears trickled down his face as he turned hate filled eyes on Lorelai.

Meanwhile Ash, who was holding onto the dying Falkner, heard the scream but barely registered it as he watched his fallen friend bleed to death. The man who was once the gym leader of Violet City was fading fast as his life blood pooled around them, staining Ash's pants red. He turned to face Ash, and spoke to his friend in a shuddering voice. "Ash... T-Those bastards got me, j-just like they got my sister... D-did I ever tell you th-that they raped her before she died? She was only thirteen and still in t-training... She should've never been there..."

A tear fell from Falkner's eye as he thought of his sister's fate. He reached for Ash's hand. "A-ash... Please do w-what I couldn't... Please avenge my little sister..."

"Don't worry Falkner, I'll get vengeance for both of us..." Falkner smiled as he breathed his last breath. Tears were in Ash's eyes as the life left Falkner's, he held the other man's hand as one final shudder took him and he was still. He took a blood stained hand and brushed Falkner's eyes closed and turned his anger filled eyes on the men who filled the warehouse.

Ash got to his feet, his emotions making him a little unsteady. He raised his hands to the sky and screamed out in anger, electricity arcing from his hands to strike the roof and rebound around the building. The raw power of a thunderstorm raged around him as his roar grew in volume.

When the lightning subsided until it was just arcs of electricity surrounding Ash's body, clapping came from the far end of the warehouse as several dark figures moved towards him. "Bravo, Ash..." A familiar voice said with amusement in his voice. "You always were the one to overreact to something."

"No way..." Ash whispered as his rage turned to shock and his eyes widened. "Your dead! I saw you die!"

"Yeah well, sometimes appearances can be very deceiving." Brock said with a smirk as he stepped into the light.

Ash was in shock as he stared at his old friend, seemingly back from the dead. But this was not the Brock from his memories, this Brock was wearing the uniform of a Team Dread Elite with the exception of one little accessory.

The younger man's eyes went wide with horror as he saw what Brock was wearing about his waist. The turncoat saw what Ash was staring at and grinned maliciously. "Oh, do you recognize my belt Ash? You really should... After all you've known it longer then you've known me. It really is quite exquisite isn't it? The other Team Dread Executives say that they are jealous and have never seen such a luxurious coat of Pikachu fur."

Ash screamed and sent a bolt of electricity at his former friend, but it just struck Brock to no effect except to make him laugh at Ash's misery. Brock's skin seemed to calcify and harden as he closed the distance to the Pokemon League Agent.

As Brock drew nearer Ash sent another blast of electricity at him, to even less effect then the last. The twisted rock trainer picked up the other man by his jacket and lifted him off the floor easily. He smiled at Ash's pain and sneered. "You always were kind of dumb Ash, you know that I am part ground attribute so yoru electric attacks won't work on me. Oh by the way... Falkner's baby sister? Guess who it was that raped her?"

Ash screamed again and struggled against Brock's stony grip trying to free himself. His entire body got charged with electicity, but Brock just laughed again and slammed Ash into the ground hard enough to crack his ribs.

The deranged trainer got really close to Ash's face. "Oh and Ash?" He whispered, his voice soft and sending shivers down his former friend's spine. "Don't worry I've saved a heaping helping of rape for that hot little red headed wife of yours."

The younger trainer's eyes narrowed dangerously and he brought his thumbs up, stabbing them into Brock's eyes. They were the only unarmored part of his body and Ash sent jolts of pure electricity into them. Brock screamed in agony and shot to his feet, stumbling away from his adversary.

Ash lay on the ground coughing up blood. Damn... He thought through the red haze of pain. Brock's slam did more damage then I thought...

"Don't just stand there you idiots!" Brock roared at the other Team Dread members. "Finish this self righteous little prick off!"

Ash lay there as the Team Dread members surrounded him. Sadness filled him as he recognized several faces. Does the betrayal run so deep? He thought sadly as they began to charge attacks to end his life. Misty... I am sorry I couldn't have been there for you more... I wish I could tell you that I have always and will always love you one more time...

News of this betrayal spread through the League fast, and many members betrayed their companions. The Battle raged for hours, in some places days, but eventually a small team of League troops found the warehouse. Lance was outside, still alive but mortally wounded. He had been beaten frozen and tortured, bearing wounds that on a lesser man would have meant death.

He was rushed to the hospital, but they could not stabilize him. His wounds, both emotional and physical made it impossible to save him. His only request was to have Ash's wife, though she was now his widow, to come see him. They sat together for over an hour, and she was still with him as he died. Misty left without saying anything to anyone, she went home and even with her dear friend Erika to comfort her she cried constantly for days.

The next time anyone saw Misty she had changed. She had a deep sadness in her eyes and never smiled, but you could tell she had a very fierce determination to see Team Dread brought down.
