Summery: Kihara lost her mom at the age of two and was then raised by the same wolf demons that killed her. After getting sick of being treated the way she was, she ran off. She ended up running into her dad and then the adventure begins. Please don't yell at me if it sucks.
AN: Just a little heads up unless you’ve read/seen: Narnia the Prince Caspian, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, Inuyasha, Naruto, and Hellsing you’ll be a little confused. Ever since I was a little girl, wolves, or wolf demons to be exact have raised me, Kihara. I witnessed them kill my mother and never recovered. The only reason I survived is because one of the leaders, Koga was his name, liked me. I managed to gradually cope with my mother's death, and after that Koga refused to let anyone touch me. At first the wolves wouldn't let me out of the cave, then not off the mountain, and then I could go about ten feet from the mountain. Every once in a while my radius would widen. Whenever I was able to roam freely I tested my borders. Whenever I got two feet from the edge the wolves guarding it would growl giving me the cue that I was close enough.
One day after I had had enough of Koga following me around and boasting about himself I cut into the middle of his boastings.
"Koga, I'm sorry but I'm feeling a little tired. I think I'm gonna turn in for the night," I said and started walking toward the cave.
"Ok, I'm on guard so I can't take you back. So I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" he asked.
"Sure thing," I lied, but he didn't notice.
As I got out of eyesight I sprinted off the mountain and waaaaaaaay past my fifty-foot barrier. I stopped by a stream knowing the best thing to do to stop the trail is to jump into a stream. I quickly jumped in and stayed under for a while letting the water reach every nook and cranny of my body. Then I stood up and quickly leapt into a tree on the other side of the river. I could hear wolves padding through the forest that surrounded the mountain following my trail. Once they got to the river they were stumped. Koga was leading them.
"Damn it. Where are you Kihara? Please tell me your not trying to run away again. If you were then you'd be hiding in this tree!" Koga said as he tore open the tree I used to always hide in when I ran away.
That was mine and Koga’s secret spot. Whenever I felt overwhelmed I'd just go there. Nothing would ever stop me getting there, and whenever I hid there I never got in trouble for it like I would if I went somewhere else. Koga would eventually be free to come and find me, and somehow talk me into going back. Not this time, this time I'd had enough. Enough of Koga's boastings, enough of not being able to go where I want, enough of having my throat jumped down whenever I return after going out too far. I will say good-bye to the Eastern Wolf Tribe, good-bye to being part of it, and most of all good-bye to Koga.
I quickly decided to escape through the trees, at least until I came to a village where I could possibly get some new clothes. The ones I have I've been wearing since the wolves took me in. Luckily they were big on me then. They just barely fit me now though.
I jumped to the next tree and looked back to make sure I wasn't seen. Then the next until I couldn't see them anymore. I kept going until I reached a clearing. I landed next to a pond. I undressed and bathed in the pond and washed my clothes. I got out and dressed, even though my clothes were still wet, and made a fire out of wood that made light smoke.
Out of nowhere someone jumped down and landed on the opposite side of the fire.
"Hello there. Do you know where I can find Kihara and Shitosha Kyuseishu?" asked the mysterious man.
"Why should I tell you?" I asked not really sure if I should tell him anything.
"I am Kihara's father and Shitosha's husband," he said.
"I don't believe you. What proof can you give me so I know what you're telling me isn't false?" I asked skeptically.
"I know that Kihara has, or at least had long blond hair and blue eyes. Shitosha had brown hair and black eyes. You look an awful lot like Kihara," he said looking closer at me.
"That's not enough proof anyone could tell me stuff like that," I said not giving up.
"Okay, let's see . . . Kihara has a birth mark on her stomach just above her bellybutton in the shape of a tiger," he said.
I gasped and placed my hand over my said birthmark. I couldn't believe it. I was officially meeting my father. The one guy I've always wanted to meet. I wanted to scream his ears off ever since I was two years old. That's when Mom told me that my father had abandoned us.
Flashback
"Momma, where is Daddy?" asked a two-year-old me.
"Honey, Daddy left us not too long after you were born," she told me.
"But why did he leave?" I asked earnestly.
"He left because he said he had to," she said.
"So all we have is each other?" I asked kind of disappointed.
"Yes, and that's not a bad thing. It's better to have each other than no one at all," she said. "Now go get dressed for your lesson."
End Flashback
Mom had given me dance lessons since I was able to walk, and had crammed years of schooling into my brain since I could talk. Then when I turned two and I started living with the wolves I learned all sorts of survival skills. When I got older and I thought back to that day; I realized that if he really loved us he would have stayed. He wouldn't have left us. He would have come back after she died to take care of me. In simple terms he didn't love us.
"I love them both so much. It's been so long since I saw them. I wish I could have come back sooner, but I had so many things that needed done. I was just so busy," he said.
"You were busy? That's your excuse for leaving us? I was always told that family comes first! Whatever happened to that? You left us! You left and then she died! She's been dead for thirteen years and it's all your fault! If you had just stayed with us she would still be alive! You could have fought off those filthy wolves! After she and the rest of the village were killed the very same group that killed her raised me! And it's all your fault! I couldn't fight them because I was out numbered one thousand to one! I will never forgive you! She would still be alive and I would still have my mom! I would've had a Mom and Dad! I would've had a normal life! I hate you Dad! I hate you!" I screamed at the top of my lungs tears falling from my eyes along the way.
Suddenly I was in his arms and I didn't care I just sat there crying. I hadn't ever cried like this in my life.
When I was finally all cried out, I pulled out of his arms. I looked up at him and scowled.
"Sweet heart-" he started.
"Don't call me that!" I yelled.
"Kihara, I was thinking of my family first. You see when I left I went to battle a very powerful demon that would have killed you then and there had I not taken care of him. Also, you have a twin sister and older brother and sister who are very anxious to meet you. I never imagined in my life that this would happen. Shitosha died? Hikana was supposed to be keeping an eye on things while I was away. She never said a word about it. All she said was that you weren't in the village anymore. I am glad that you survived. How did you manage that?" he asked.
"Simple, one of the wolf demons liked me and refused to let anyone touch me. Who's Hikana and since when do I have a twin sister?" I asked.
"Hikana is you're older sister. Kahiri was born only a minute after you so guess since the second minute of your life. Who was the wolf demon that spared you?" he asked.
"His name is Koga. Why have I never seen my twin? Aren't we supposed to stay together?" I asked confused.
"We separated you at birth on the off chance that something happened to you and your mother. Your older brother Chikato has been taking care of her ever since. Koga, I'll have to remember that. Which tribe is he from?" he asked.
"He's from the Eastern Wolf Tribe. Why didn't you just move all of us from the village?" I asked.
"Your mother refused to move from the village for any reason what so ever. I take it you just escaped from the tribe and they haven't given you new clothes?" he asked.
"Yeah I escaped, and there is no way in hell you're getting me to go back. There's no way I'm going back there, even if it's a life or death situation. I absolutely refuse to endure even one more second of Koga's boastings or the elders yelling at me for going outside my boundaries by like thirty miles," I said crossing my arms.
"You don't have to go back to stay. I just think I should take you back and explain things to them. You know tell them that I'm your father and that you'll be living with me from now on. I would hate for them to be chasing you for the rest of your life," he said.
"I don't want to go back for anything, and definitely not in this," I protested.
"I can fix your clothing issue, but whether you like it or not you're coming with me. You don't have to say a word. You don't even have to step into the cave," he said holding a bag out to me.
"And how exactly do you plan that is going to happen?" I asked taking the bag.
"Just trust me and go get changed," he said helping me up and pushing me to a tree.
I slipped behind the tree and changed. The outfit was a tight black and white dress that came to my mid thigh and puffed out at the waist, it had long sleeves that puffed out at the elbows, black stockings that came within three inches from the bottom of the dress, black ballet shoes, complete with a black ribbon for my hair and a black choker necklace. I had to say I liked the outfit. I walked out from behind the tree with the bag that had my old clothes in it, and walked toward my father.
"So where did you get this and how did you know what size I wore?" I asked truly curious.
"There is one sentence I would like to hear before I answer that. Do you know what that is?" he asked.
"Yeah. Dad, I'm sorry for saying I hate you. I was just angry, upset, and hurt. I don't hate you and I never did. I love you with all my heart. I know that was actually four sentences but I had to get it all out," I said.
"Well thank you, but none of those were the sentences I was looking for. Can you think of another?" he asked clearly surprised that I said even that.
"Um . . . Oh! I trust you Dad?" I questioned hoping against hope that I had used the right sentence.
"That would be it. I actually guessed you would be about the same size as Kahiri. As it turns out my guess was correct," he said looking rather proud of himself.
"You just got lucky. Well, let's get this over with," I said.
I lead the way to the cave and stood off to the side of the entrance just out of eyesight. Dad walked in and was almost ambushed, but I saved him by jumping in front of him. The wolves stopped and backed down. Out of nowhere Koga appeared and grabbed me from behind.
"There you are Kihara! I've been going crazy trying to find you! Where have you been? You went waaaaaaaay past your borders, and I can't cover for you this time I was on watch. Why did you go so far? Who's this? What are you wearing?" Koga asked finally noticing Dad.
"Koga this is my father," I said refusing to answer any of his other questions.
"Ah! So this is Koga? So nice to meet you I'm Kiato," Dad said holding out his hand to Koga.
Koga looked at him like he was nuts and refused to release me from his grasp. I stretched my arms out, grabbed his wrists, and flung him over my head into the opposite wall.
"Kihara, that's not very polite he was just giving you a hug and showing his concern for you," Dad said.
"Dad please, he's been doing that crap since I first came here," I said. "Didn't you want to speak with the elder?"
"Yes, lead the way," he said trailing behind me as I walked to the elder's bed.
"Ah! There you are young Kihara. I've told you before if you keep going out of your boundaries, they will be restricted. And who's this?" asked the elder.
"I am Kihara's father. I came to inform you that Kihara will be leaving with me. I will be raising her from here on out. She is free to return here whenever she likes as long as that is okay with you," Dad said.
"She is free to return of course as long as Koga remains living in this tribe. Why are you taking her now, why not before?" the elder asked.
"I had far too many things to do before, but now I'm free to raise her like I should have," Dad said.
"Well, at least we won't have a little thorn in our side anymore. Maybe you will have better luck getting her to behave. We've tried everything. Nothing seems to work," the elder sighed in relief that I would be leaving.
"NOOOOOO!! You can't take her! I won't let you!" Koga exclaimed.
"And why on earth would I ever stay here when I have the option to leave?" I asked getting close to my breaking point.
"I thought we had something together. I thought we were soul mates. I thought we connected. I thought together we were one," Koga said coming to grab my hands in his.
"Koga, we were never together, we never had anything together, we were never anywhere close to soul mates, and we aren't one together. We simply don't match up. We are complete opposites. You'll find someone who fits you better. Trust me, we're not meant to be," I said taking my hands from him.
"Well, we'd better get going. I'm sorry to say, Koga, you have to stay here. Not only because Kihara wishes it, but because your clan does also. I'm sure if you were to spend awhile away you would get homesick soon. It's best you stay here. This is where your heart truly is," Dad said and without another word he led me to the door of the cave and took flight holding me in his arms.
I clung to him for dear life, and I hate to admit it but I screamed. I screamed my lungs out, because I had never in my life flown. I had to admit though Dad's wings were beautiful. They were a little ruffled but they were still a pure white color.
"Isn't this fun?" Dad asked.
"If by fun you mean horrifyingly awesome then yes," I responded.
"What's horrifying about it?" Dad asked.
"The fact that if you drop me I will fall to my death," I said still clinging for my life.
"You mean you haven't discovered yours yet?" Dad asked.
"My what?" I asked.
"Let your grip go I won't drop you," he said, and I slowly let my grip loosen.
Just as I let my grip go completely he dropped me. I fell a good three feet until I somehow caught myself without grabbing anything. I gained just enough altitude to look him in the face when I realized that I was in fact flying myself. I looked over my shoulders and saw the most beautiful set of white wings.
"I have my very own wings!" I exclaimed.
"Sorry for lying to you Kihara. It was the only way to make you realize that you had them. You have to think that you're going to die in order to bring them out. If you didn't have them I would have caught you in time. As a matter of fact I was about to come get you when they popped out," he explained.
"I can fly! Watch me! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" I called doing loop de loops.
I was flying around doing all sorts of aerobatics. I was having the time of my life.
"Come on Kihara. Kahiri is going to wonder what's taking me so long to retrieve you," he called flying past me.
"Coming!" I called following close behind.
We stopped at a well and I was a little weary.
"Why are we here?" I asked.
"Just hop in and all will be explained," he said pushing me toward the well.
I looked to the bottom of the well, shrugged my shoulders, and jumped in. Dad helped me out once we landed at the bottom of the well after a flash of blue light. Once we were out I noticed we were in a little building that wasn't there before. I followed Dad's lead and closed and hid my wings.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"Just at a cross road," Dad responded leading the way outside.
I was stunned I looked around and I could see buildings that seemed to be stretching to reach the sky. I followed Dad into the woods nearby. It seemed like we walked for hours until we finally stopped at a huge sakura tree (by the way sakura tree = cherry blossom tree).
"Okay Kihara, spread out your wings. It's safe here," Dad said spreading his as I spread mine.
"Now place your hand on the tree bark and think of how much you want to see Kahiri." he instructed.
I placed my hand on the tree bark and he placed his over mine. I then closed my eyes and thought of how much I wanted to see Kahiri. I wanted to see her more than ever, more than I've ever wanted anything in my life. There was a flash of white light and when I opened my eyes and looked around, I noticed we were in a completely different woods.
"Follow me Kihara. This is the right wood. Hide your wings again," Dad said leading me through the woods.
When we came to a clearing there was a lamppost. It looked really familiar for some reason, though I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I raced over to it and traced my fingers over the vines that covered it. I began to pull the vines away and noticed little scribblings.
"What are you doing Kihara?" Dad asked.
I didn't respond I just tried to decipher the little scribblings.
note (01)
"Kihara, what on earth are you doing?" he asked again.
I didn't answer him again and knelt down to retrieve the crumpled up piece of paper.
note (02)
"Kihara, are you going to answer me?" he asked me.
"Dad, I'm playing hide and seek with Kahiri. Look read this," I said gesturing to the lamppost.
