Crashing Hard
After graduation the SOS brigade had said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. Kyon would still hear from Mikuru and Yuki every now and then, but without Haruhi bringing them together, they slowly drifted apart. The only one Kyon spent any time with was Haruhi herself. There was a lingering attraction, mostly on Kyon's part, but really, it was more like they didn't know how to live without one another. Not in the Romeo Juliet die in each other's arms kind of way, but in the sense that they knew one another better that anyone else.
When something went wrong in Kyon's life, he'd call her up and listen to her laugh at how stupid he was. When Haruhi would get arrested for breaking in to a museum to liberate an ancient artifact in the hopes to contact aliens, he'd be there to bail her out. It was a pretty good gig, but Kyon had found himself longing for more. She was the only girl that really knew him.
He had found himself a boring desk job with a company he didn't even know what they made, and he really didn't care. It was just a paycheck, but the monotony eventually sank down deep in to his bones lately the only spark of excitement in his life was the time he spent with Haruhi.
"Poke." He said sheepishly, playfully poking her cheek with his finger.
"There you are." She giggled, turning to see her meek attacker.
"So what are we doing today?" Kyon asked, not really caring about the answer. He'd follow her in to depths of hell if she wished.
"To the aquarium." She replied, very matter-of-fact-ly. "There's a new exhibit of deep sea life that I'd like to explore."
"The aquarium?" Kyon repeated.
"Yeah, the ocean is like our own little alien world." She exclaimed, her voice filled with the same amount of wonder she had on the day she had introduced herself in class so many years ago.
So they went to the aquarium, Kyon paying for Haruhi's admittance, as usual. He didn't mind. Guys usually paid for everything on a date, not that this was a date. Kyon had never really been on a date. He never really had the time, and if he did, he never had a woman to take. Sure Haruhi was beautiful and his heart fluttered when he was around her, but he'd never ask her out, he was stuck in that soul crushing friend zone.
They explored the aquarium, Kyon spending more time watching Haruhi than any of the fish. He wasn't sure if he really liked her or if his fondness was due only to their close proximity. Just because he didn't know any other girls shouldn't be a reason for falling in love. But he knew how he felt when he was around her and wondered if that was love. Kindness, joy, warmth, excitement, even child like wonder, but what is love? Baby don't hurt me.
"Kyon?" Haruhi's cute voice brought his mind back from its wanderings.
"Yeah?" He replied dreamily.
"Do you ever wonder what'd be like to be a be a jelly fish..." She replied, just as dreamily.
She really was a wonder. Kyon smiled. "What do you mean?"
"You know, just drifting along, not a care in the world. I wonder what they're thinking." She answered, leaning in close to stare at the strange creature.
"You do kinda do that." Kyon replied, trying not to laugh. "Aren't we supposed to be adults or something? Are you ever gonna settle down?"
"I'm getting married in a few weeks." She replied, still staring at the tank. "Is that settled down enough for you?"
It kind of felt like a giant invisible celestial giant had just stomped on his every hope and dream. "You're what?"
"Getting married." She repeated, this time turning back to face him. "What are you, deaf of something?" She added with a wistful sigh.
Kyon couldn't remember what he answered her question with. The rest of the day was just an empty blur. As he staggered home from where ever else Haruhi had dragged him off to, he begged the empty sky for some kind of answer to what he was feeling. He dragged himself through his front door and up to his room, throwing his coat on the floor and himself on to his bed. He laid there, trying to cry but her wasn't able to. His anguish slowly carried off into the night.
The next morning Kyon woke up with an aching lump in his throat. Married? Her voice played over and over in his head. She didn't even say who her fiancée was, just that she was getting married. Sure, Kyon wasn't expecting Haruhi to marry him or anything, but the idea of her marrying someone else ripped at his soul. Why was this happening to him? His mind shouted at him, neither of them knowing why.
Work was even more boring and monotonous that usual. He just sat at his desk pondering himself to the bone, trying to figure out why he was feeling this morose melancholy, unable to feel anything but the overwhelming soul crushing sensation weighing him down. Everything he did seemed so pointless. But the time he made it home he had hardly put anything together. She was just his everything, and her getting married meant he'd lose her. And he couldn't see himself living in a world without her. And for some reason, he just hoped that she might feel the same way.
The next few days Kyon just kind of wandered around, going to work when he had to and sleeping when he was tired of feeling empty. Haruhi had called him but he let it go to voicemail. In her message, she said, "Well, We've picked a date and I hope you can make it." Kyon could believe it had gone this far without him realizing it. Wasn't there some kind of beginning and middle before a relationship ended up at marriage? Maybe if he had known he could have said something. He didn't know what to do anymore. He called her back, telling her he'd be there, not really sure why.
As the weeks crept up to that fateful day, Kyon learned more and more about Haruhi's fiancée. He was just some random guy named Dave and there was nothing particularly interesting about him. Haruhi met him at work, and after a few dates, things had gotten pretty serious. Kyon could believe that such a plain guy could win over Haruhi's mysterious heart, but if he had, he must be something special.
"So, do you think it's too soon for me to be getting married?" Haruhi asked over the phone one random night.
Kyon had never been given such a great opportunity tell her what he really thought, but he could bring himself to do it. "No, if you really love him, why not."
"Yeah, that's what I was thinking." She hung up, the apprehension lingering on the line like a thick fog.
Kyon hated himself for supporting her, because somewhere in the back of his mind, he was the one that Haruhi was supposed to marry. And worse, he hated himself for hating himself, because that meant he was nothing more than a jealous selfish coward, who should have made a move before it was too late. Mostly, he just hated everything, because it was easier than admitting the truth. He was in love with Haruhi, and he was about to lose her.
A few days later, Haruhi called him up again. "Hey, how's it going?"
Kyon wanted to tell her the truth, but he knew if he did, it would just cause problems. "Good. What about you?"
They talked for a while. Most of it was about Dave and how frustrating he was. Kyon never really understood why Haruhi was sticking with a guy that she constantly complained about. Maybe they had made it past the so called honeymoon period, and now that they were in a real relationship, their boat was being rocked. It pained him to hear about her happiness, but then again, it made him feel pathetic for being so selfish. Hearing her open up her emotions to him made him feel even that much more closer to her and he knew his heart was stuck in a constant state of free fall.
It was the day of the wedding and Kyon was still debating whether or not to show up. He promised Haruhi that he'd go, but he didn't think he could handle the pain of seeing her getting married to some other guy. Sure this was supposed to be the happiest of her life, but to Kyon, today would symbolize the day he lost the love of his life. He eventually got dressed up and decided to go with the flow, knowing he'd regret whatever he did either way.
He showed up at the church a couple hours earlier than he was supposed to. They were still setting up and Haruhi was moving from place to place making sure everything was perfect. When she had a moment to relax, they found a quiet room to talk.
"So today's the big day, right?" Kyon said awkwardly.
"Yeah, I can't believe this is actually happening." Haruhi said almost breathlessly. "It's all like a dream."
"Well, I'm happy for you." Kyon said, thinking that this is the last time he'd ever see Haruhi as herself before she becomes someone else.
"Well..." Haruhi replied slowly. "You don't seem like it."
There was a weird tension in the air. Like there was something they both needed to say, but neither of them could. Kyon thought of that moment in all the movies and TV when the preacher says, "If any person here can show cause why these two people should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace." And his heart began to pound. "It's just, marriage is so... final."
Haruhi smiled. "Yeah, I know, it's kinda scary, but I think it's amazing when someone throws their heart in to the ring and sees where it lands."
Kyon didn't know what the hell he was doing anymore. His whole world was crumbling all around him. "Kiss me." He said, desperately.
"What?!" Haruhi jumped.
He had jumped off the waterfall, and all that was left was the plunge to the depths. "I love you Haruhi." He said in a desperate panic. "I've been in love with you since the day that we met, and I can't stand the fact that you're marrying him like this."
"What do you mean like this?" Haruhi replied, getting flustered. She looked so beautiful in her wedding dress.
"I mean, just leaving me here, with nothing." Kyon said, speaking without thinking. "Do you have any idea how I feel about you?"
"Maybe a little." Haruhi said with a weak smile. "But you never said anything."
"I'm saying it now." Kyon replied, throwing everything out in the open. "I love you."
"It's too late." Haruhi said with the hint of tears welling in her eyes. "It's my wedding day."
Kyon knew that she was right. But at that moment he was too vulnerable to turn back. "Then just one last kiss. Then I could die happy."
"Well, happy or not, don't go dying anytime soon, okay?" Haruhi grinned, facing Kyon in her wedding dress. She was beyond adorable.
It has been said it's better to regret doing something, than to regret not doing something. Kyon didn't think it applied to a situation like this, but he didn't care. He pressed his lips top hers and for an instant, everything in the world made sense. Her lips were so luscious and soft, it drenched his burning passion in kerosene. He had never felt so much in such a short amount of time. It felt like this was what he was born for and that everything else in his life was just leading up to this perfect moment.
"Oh Kyon, why didn't you say something sooner." Haruhi gasped breathless.
He was nearly speechless. "I didn't think..."
"Don't talk." Haruhi said, pushing her arms around him.
They kissed again, and again, and again, Kyon's mind not able to keep up with the sensory overload. His hands were crawling up and down her body, gripping and groping her through the smooth fabric of her dress. He could believe how hot her body felt even through the thick material. Her body was melting on to his, responding to his every touch.
Haruhi broke the embrace abruptly, causing Kyon's mind to panic with the thought that they had gotten caught, or worse, Haruhi realized what she was doing. But as Haruhi wiggled herself out of her panties and hiked up her dress, he relaxed a little. Well, part of him relaxed, the rest of his body seemed to itch with an incurable lust. Haruhi leaned with her hands against the wall, bent over slightly, her bare backside presented to him wrapped in the elegant bow of her lacy dress.
She looked back at him over her shoulder. "Well?"
Time seemed to slow as Kyon ripped at his belt and pants, his cock emerging from the rubble like an action hero. As he closed the distance, time seemed to speed back up to normal as he found himself poised to commit what many would consider to be immoral and probably illegal. He didn't care. Everything in is world existed in that room and stood there in front of him. He gripped her hips in his hands, feeling his cock press in to the fleshy wonders of her supple ass.
He leaned in and kissed the back of her neck, whispering. "I don't care what happens after moment."
"Just please, don't talk." Haruhi said through forced breath.
Kyon could tell she was conflicted and didn't want to ruin such a perfect moment, so he kept his mouth shut. He pulled her hips back to meet his, grinding against her ass for a few moments while his swelled with excitement. After a few struggled attempts, he hit home, finding her tight wet pussy aching for his manhood. The sensation filled him and he stood still for a minute, basking in her warm depths. It took a while for him mind to grasp the concept of what it was he was doing, but once he realized it, he was able to start moving again. He felt every slipper fold of her tight hole gripping his sensitive shaft as he slowly thrust it deep within her inner sanctums.
After a few awkwardly slow thrusts, Haruhi's body started to ease past her initial apprehensions. They found a rhythm and soon enough, they were rocking in perfect harmony. As sensation flooded through Haruhi's body she found it hard to keep her sweaty hands from sliding down the wall. She led Kyon over to a table, keeping him buried as deep inside her as they could manage. She swept everything off the table with a dramatic push and bent herself over the table, keeping her ass in the air and Kyon right where he needed to be.
From this angle, Kyon was able to speed things up, slapping his pelvis against her nice round ass with every thrust. He wasn't sure how much longer he could last, considering how good she felt, but he hung on, desperate to prolong this brief moment of ecstasy. His motions became longer, more forceful, filling her with every lustful thrust. With his legs trembling he gripped her hips for dear life, bottoming out and holding himself as deep as he could as he felt his cock erupt, his balls emptying themselves in a hurried rush, his body rocking uncontrollably. He thrust a few more times, feeling his cock juttering a few last spurts, until he could hold on anymore. He pulled Haruhi in to a tight embrace and they fell down to the floor.
As his cock drained as fell from Haruhi's body he could believe what he had just done. Haruhi sat up and giggled as a pool of cum drained from her out on to the floor. Kyon started laughing too, not really sure why, but just overwhelmed with emotion and disbelief. Haruhi put her hands on his shoulder and pushed him down the floor.
"My husband can never find about this." She said sternly.
"My lips are sealed." He said earnestly.
Haruhi laughed, "Well good, but unseal them one last time."
She gave him one last long passionate kiss before climbing off of him and cleaning herself up. It took a while, considering how much of her makeup had smeared on Kyon's face, the walls, the table and the floor, and her hair was a complete mess. But eventually she got herself cleaned back up and ready for her wedding. Kyon stayed for the wedding but snuck away before the reception without a word. He didn't know what to say to her, everything he wanted to say had been said before the wedding.
They stayed in contact but saw less and less of each other as time went on. A few months after the wedding Haruhi called him up, telling him that she was pregnant. They had a good laugh about it and the idea of her being a mother, but the real question never got asked. Kyon thought it was better that way but there were nights that he would lie in bed, wondering.

So, if you haven't guess, this story was just a medium for me to explore a personal and complecated issue in my life, so the characters are a little out of character, but I did my best to keep things as close to the Haruhi/Kyon that we all know and love. Well, enough of that, I hope to get back to my regular writting schedual soon and finish up some of my other stories, so stay tuned.
