Oneshot Nefastum: Disparity Of My Dreams

The combusken woke up surrounded by the dark walls of her cave. Her home. A soft chirp somewhere near made her alert. She sat up and immediately smiled, looking at her two babies. Her own. So small. So young. Barely out of their feathers. They sleepily looked at her, softly nudging her arms with their tiny beaks. She softly nuzzled with her small torchic while the other softly cheeped. A wave of happiness bubbled through her, a euphoria. The inexplicable feeling of overwhelming love of a mother washed over her. She was a mother. They climbed on their mother's lap, quietly squawking over space from other. She felt as if she would burst with her love for them. So beautiful. She curled her arms around them protectively, loving them more by every passing second.

Suddenly a shadow loomed over them, a presence at the entrance of the cave. He mind jumped, her heart thudding against her chest. He was here. Without turning Jane could tell that her mate had come home. He walked up to his mate and looked at her with amusement, a smile stretching over his face as if he thought that something was extremely funny. He softly sat down beside her and wrapped his arms around her, rubbing her stomach. She sighed contently, their protector had come. Hers and her children’s. The cracking of dry leaves and hay on which the family curled woke a torchic up.

[Master?] she said turning her head to look at her mate. One of their child climbed into his lap and curled itself mewling softly about something. The human looked at her, smiling beautifully.

"Here I brought back my hunt." He produced a bar of chocolate from his pocket. She smiled as their two children woke up, smelling the sweet food. The cave was filled with their hungry squawks and chirps. Both softly tried to nudge each other out of the way as they reached for their father's hand. Aman quickly snapped two small pieces of chocolate from the bar and presented them to his hungry children.

The hungry torchic's immediately began to peck at this brown delicacy. The chocolate was finished in a short time. After finishing their meal the two torchic's slowly moved towards their mother, hulking as if they had eaten a mountain. She picked up one, rubbing her beak against its smaller one. The other chirped, complaining. The mother smiled and picked him up. Aman put a hand on her shoulder, softly pushing her, signaling her to lie down. She complied and the torchic's cozened themselves against her chest.

Her mate lay down beside her, his hand slipping down to her waist. She looked to her side finding that her mate had already fallen asleep his dark hair tumbling around his pale face, his chest heaving with every breath. She also looked at the shinx perched on her mate's chest. Delia. It was okay. She was a part of the pack, the family. Everyone here was asleep. She hugged him back, one arm around his neck, other on the chest. A subtle mixture of submission and love.

Even though their cave was unguarded, surprisingly she felt no qualms over their security. He was here. She was in her own world, her own heaven. She let her eyes close, feeling the need to join her pack in their sleep. Instead of the usual darkness that came after going to sleep for her, a white flash bright in intensity. It blotted everything away. The next second she opened her eyes to see...

 

Master! Holding her against the cave wall, his hands on her waist, his face a little blurry as if seen from a distance. The wall of against her back seemed particularly soft for the rock hard cave walls. Her arms were around his neck, her breathing ragged and discontinuous. She didn't perceive for a second what was happening. Where were their children? But even before she could respond her mate drew closer, his arms pulling her closer against him tightly.

"Jane" he said his tone oddly normal for this...err particular situation. She heaved, losing her breath at his proximity. She turned her head up and towards the side, exposing her neck, showing submission to the male. His hand left her waist and landed on the cheek of the combusken, turning her head towards him. His face was very close, close enough for her to feel his hot breath on her cheeks. He leaned in forward, his mouth wandering towards her beak.

'Kissing is a sign of mating for humans' master had said. His lips were close enough. She let her eyes flutter shut, anticipating the moment. Waited for his soft lips to grab the hardness of her beak... 

 

Any moment now.... 

She sat up suddenly shocked and confused. Her lungs heaving as if she had run a long distance. What was happening? Where were they? She looked around to find the master sleeping on the other side of the bed with a shinx cuddled against the side of his head. She immediately realized it, her heart sinking and jumping at the same moment. It had been a dream. All of it. And it made her sad and happy in equal measure.

It had been really sweet, master and her living as mates in their cave with their children. A very stupid but a very happy dream. The absurdity of it. Combusken's couldn't have children, let alone mates. And the males hunting chocolate for food? As far as she remembered father hunted for berries and meat. Her dream had been based on her own percivement, her own fantasy. She looked at him again, staring at his face, pale due to the moonlight. They could never be mates, never. He was a human she was a combusken, he a trainer she a Pokémon, he was so perfect, she just..... an ordinary combusken. She quickly turned to her side laying down on the soft bed, her heart wincing at the realization. She closed her eyes trying not to dream about him, hoping all the same that it would come....
