Married Life (First Chapter, tester)

            “Goddamned Ryuzaki.” That smug bastard had all but taken complete control of my life since he’d taken Misa in for questioning those many years ago. During my early years as Kira, the world-renowned detective, L, had come to the conclusion my then-girlfriend Misa Amane was indeed my..well, for the sake of irony, let’s call her my partner in crime. He was right in his deduction, but nevertheless it put one hell of a dent in my plans to bring this vile world we lived in to justice and enlightenment.

            I run my fingers through my hair, stopping at my scalp to scratch, trying to alleviate some of the growing tension from the day. Ryuzaki was long dead, but somehow that didn’t stop him from making sure I’d never be fully free again. No sooner had I thought the words before a piercing voice broke my concentration, followed by a door being thrust open.

            “LIIIIIIIIIIGHTOO-KUN!!” In a flash of blonde hair and sickeningly skimpy clothing, Misa was at my side, clinging to my now aching arm.

            “Welcome back! You took oh so very long to come home tonight! More trouble at work? Or maybe that stupid Mello has you stressed? Is there anything I can do?” That infuriating voice, her endless rambling, it was enough to drive any sane man to doing something heinous, possibly even murder. The idea had crossed my mind on more than one occasion, giving me the opportunity to reevaluate just how much I really needed this poor excuse for a female in my life.

            “Oh well, I made your favorite! Let’s go inside so I can pamper you like you deserve! After all, it is my job as your wife!” As she tugged me forward across the threshold, my eyes couldn’t help but wander down her spine, going past her hips to her admittedly shapely backside. As a smirk made its way across my lips, my mind traveled to a much darker place. Maybe my personal hell did come with a few perks…

            “Misa, let’s retire to the bedroom…”
