A savior or a villian

So it has been over a year since I wrote the first chapter. Due to a lot of issues in life, I had other things to focus on. Since someone was kind enough to write me a nice review and even asked for another chapter. I am going to publish more until I the story is complete. Again neither the character or the fandom belongs to me. They belong to the series Hakuoki which was created by Otomate. I don't make a profit off any of this either. I do this because it is fun. The only thing that belongs to me is the oc. Her name is Maru and she is mine. I hope you enjoy and feel free to review. Sorry for any spelling or grammer problem. I suck as this.

Her brown eyes focused on the reddish brunette  before her. His tall stature in the signature yellow, black and red kimono under the Shinsingumi uniform of blue and white that ties across his chest. On his forehead was the metal head protector with two long white strings that flowed in the wind and on his side was tow swords. one was in the sheath while the other was held tightly in his right hand.

Her body shook as her eyes focused on the sight of the blade. The alleyway was dark as the sun was beginning to set but the little light that shined in sparkled on the blood as it dripped onto the dirt path under them. The blood of it's victim dressed the blade in red. In a swift motion the blade moved up and back down. Splattering the ground and the wall behind her. Her body jolted as a droplet of blood landed on her cheek.

"Oh no, I didnt mean to get it on you," The man before her spoke while putting his sword back into the sheath. She clearly remember the elderly women in the store she worked in warn her of the Shinsingumi. Stating that they were a group of ruthless killers that weren't afraid to hurt others. Although there are some who were kind to other such as a man names Heisuke Toudou and Sanosuke Harada, they mentioned a name of a person who she should never cross paths with. His name was Okita Shouji, a man who was able to kill and take one's life with a smile.

Brown met emerald-green as their eyes met. Okita kneeled before her slouched body and gently rubbed her cheek with his sleeve. She stared into his eyes as her body became rigged. Although her mind was silent and calm, her heart was beating rapidly.

"No need to be afraid," Okita laughed at the startled girl. She was shocked at the sudden laughter coming from the man in front of her. Yet at the same time she was not suprised because he had just smiled after killing a man.

"A..any...one would be...afraid..." her lips trembled as she spoke, "If one was told...that they were to be...killed."

Okita looked at the girl and dropped his smile. He released a sigh fro his lips and began to take off his haori off.

"I thought saying that I would kill you would give me something to laugh at," he spoke as he placed the haori over the girl's shoulders. "But your reaction was so ordinary that killing you would just rust my sword." After tieing the haori around her body, Okita stood up and began to walk away.

Anger rose though her chest as she listened to his comment. He was taunting her. Using her for his own satisfaction, all so he can get a little chuckle. Once he deemed her useless, he was just going to toss her aside. She was was not going to sit by and watch this man walk all over her. Even though she had no reason to be angry. She stood up and yelled at him.

"Who would want to be killed by you anyways?!" she called out at him when he reached the entrance of the alleyway. "Some samurai you are. More like a big piece of blue lard!" Although her insult was useless because she was now wearing his haori, she couldn't stop the words from coming from her mouth.

Before she could even blink she was pushed back against the wall and pinned between two arms. "I saved your life because you reminded me of someone I know. But it seems I was mistaken," Okita spoke with coldness in his voice as he streamed her raven black hair inbetween his fingers.

She opened her eyes and looked at his souless eyes. "So he had saved me, because I resembled someone he knew?" she thought to her self.

Without thinking she spat in his face. Causing her silva to land on his right cheek whoch would have mirrored the blood on her's if Okita didn't clean her up.

She finally realized that her body has stop shaking and instead of feeling scared she was angry. "You are no savior. You are just a villian." She said to him.

Okita backed away from her after the comment. "A villian?" he repeated her words. "You're right. Sometimes the world need a villian to show others how good they have it." he spread his arms wide and turned around and headed out of the alley.

She watched him walk away. "But sometimes the villian is actually the hero of the story," Okita spoke as he disappered into the darkness.

"I don't need a hero nor a villian!" she yelled out to him.

She fell back to the ground and tilted her head up to the sky. The once blue sky was now a dark purple with stars shining around. She didn't know that she had wasted so much time in the alleyway. She gripped the haori around her as a chill ran down her spine. As she left the alley only the night sky would know that her face was a bright red.
