Haunting Me (Part II)
Chapter 3: Haunting Me Part II (Elizabeth’s POV)
Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Hellsing or any of its characters. I DO own my original characters so don’t tell me my characters suck!
Author’s notes: So I know that it says that this is Elizabeth’s POV but there is a little scene right before it starts off on her POV. I actually cut this scene from the previous chapter and then I let a friend read it recently. They loved it and convinced me to basically do the last chapter from Elizabeth’s POV and add the scene. The starting of Elizabeth’s POV will be marked. Also I used a lot of the same dialogue so please do not bitch at me for being lazy and using the same material over again. It’s a part of the story from a different perspective so I HAVE TO COPY WHAT I PREVIOUSLY WROTE! Again please do not complain about that. If you do I will delete your review and make an announcement of it in the next chapter. So yeah here’s the scene I cut out and then the new chapter.
So read, rate, and for the love of Alucard, REVIEW!!!!

“Walter?”
“Yes sir Integra?” Walter’s voice said coming through the intercom on Integra’s desk.
“I need you to call Seres up here. I wish to speak with her,” Integra replied while putting out the end of her cigar.
“Right away sir.”
Integra let her white, gloved finger off of the button on her intercom and sat back in her chair. She lit up another cigar, letting the familiar smell take over her senses. She looked down at the vanilla colored folder in front of her. This was the second day that this particular folder had been sitting on her desk. Integra’s eyes showed a hint of worry and hesitation. She knew what the contents of that folder contained. It contained information about Elizabeth.
“Just the mere fact that she’s a dhampir terrifies me,” Integra said as she tapped the extinguished ash off the end of her cigar.
She reached out her hand to open the folder when the door of her office opened. There stood Walter, stepping aside to let Seres in. Walter closed the doors behind him.
“You wanted to see me sir?” Seres asked.
“Yes Seres. I need you and Alucard to show Ms. Elizabeth our weapons. If she’s going to be working for us at least she could learn how to use our weapons if the time comes she needs to use them.”
Seres scuffed her foot against the tiled floor, thinking to herself before she answered, “Does Alucard really need to be there?”
“I beg your pardon Seres? You don’t want your master there?”
“Well yes and no. No one knows the weapons better then me and the other men. Besides Alucard uses his own weapons, not the regular Hellsing issued ones.”
Integra took a long drag of her cigar, “Is that the real reason Seres? Or is there something more?”
“It’s…it’s just that…that Ms. Elizabeth…she’s so STUNNINGLY beautiful. Alucard would probably be distracted rather easily if you know what I mean.”
Integra stared almost coldly at Seres before she began to speak again, “Seres go inform Alucard about training. Walter please go check on Ms. Elizabeth, I assume she’s all ready up and about.”
Seres rolled her eyes as she turned to walk out, “She’s in the library. I passed her on my way up here.”
As soon as Seres had left, Integra let out a sigh. She then pushed her round framed glasses up her nose as she looked at Walter, “Do you think Elizabeth is really that beautiful?”
Walter couldn’t help but smile as he cleared his throat, “Well to be perfectly honest sir, if I was a lot younger I would be tempted to pursue her. But as a former vampire hunter, I still keep in mind just what exactly she is.”
“So then,” Integra said looking back down at the folder that she still had not read yet, “You’ve read the contents of this folder?”
“Yes…the Carpathian monks and hunters that taught Elizabeth, taught her very well; almost exceptional. However they only taught her so much.”
“What do you mean?”
“They only taught her certain limits to her powers. Reading over her list of powers is eerily similar to Alucard except Elizabeth can read minds better then Alucard can. We’re all use to Alucard reading our thoughts so we have learned to mentally block them. But now we will have to block them from her as well. I am even sure she could still read our minds even if we tried to hide our deepest and darkest secrets.”
“Hmmm a vampire with enormous mind reading capabilities. That might come in handy actually,” Integra took another drag of her cigar.
“Ms. Elizabeth has incredible amounts of power for a half breed of her nature. I also found out the reason of her becoming a dhampir.”
“Really? It wasn’t a genetic malfunction?”
“Actually it was a genetic miracle. Ms. Elizabeth was a twin. She had a twin brother that died after birth. Our researchers seem to think that before the fertilized egg split into two, the vampire DNA was all ready absorbed into it. So then when the egg split the gene split as well.”
“My god…it makes sense. There’s almost no other record of a female dhampir in the history of vampires,” Integra set her cigar in the ashtray.
“Yes she is a very rare specimen. I’m almost afraid to see what she would be capable of doing if she was a full vampire. If my calculations are correct from the documents in from of you, she could almost be as powerful as Alucard.”
Integra stared up at Walter, “As powerful as Alucard? My god, it’s bad enough having one complete powerful being but what if she gets turned? Who knows what would happen? So now we have a semi powerful and gorgeous woman in our hands…maybe Seres was right to be worried about how Alucard will handle this.”
“I really wouldn’t worry about it sir and besides she’s not the only beautiful female in this organization.”
“You have to say things like that Walter because you work for me.”
“But sir,” Walter said walking to stand next to her while she continued to sit at her desk, “I’ve known you all your life. I’ve watched you grow from an energetic, little girl into a beautiful and strong woman.”
Integra was quiet for a moment, “Thank you Walter, you may go.”
Walter bowed slightly and went out the door without hesitation.
Integra watched as he went out the door. She felt her face get warm, from the blush that seemed to mark her dark skin. She picked up her cigar from the ashtray and took a drag. She stared at the folder on her desk and then finally reached out and opened it.

(ELIZABETH’S POV)
The sound of Elizabeth’s shoes clicked, echoing behind her with each step she took. She was looking through all the books in the Hellsing Library. She was overwhelmed with that masses upon masses of books involving vampyric myths and legends, superstitions, and other things of that nature. Elizabeth had never had access to such books back in the monastery where she was born, raised, and trained to fight. She had only known what her teachers had taught her back home. She stopped for a moment, thinking of the monastery. She had only been gone for a couple of days and all ready she missed it. Hellsing Manor was so cold compared to the monastery. Elizabeth sighed as something caught her eye.
As she got closer to it, she realized that it was an old book. She gently grabbed the book by the spine and pulled it slowly off the shelf. The book was bound in rich brown leather. She opened the book to find that all the words were hand written.
“My name is Abraham Van Hellsing. It is my duty, while on this earth, to defeat the so called evil of the world, the dark creatures that roam the night and hide in the shadows, the vampires. It has become clear to me that they must be stopped and destroyed, in the name of God, before they have the chance to spread their evil to the rest of the world,” Elizabeth read aloud.
She was stunned. She had been taught about the famous Dr. Van Hellsing and of his triumphs but to be here reading his thoughts about all of his conquests, it amazed her. She continued to glance through the book, walking over to a nearby table. She sat the book down, turning on the lamp on the table and sat down.
“My comrades and I are in the search of what I believe is the purest form of the ultimate evil here on earth. I have been informed that a certain Romanian prince has a thirst for blood, impaling his victims on spikes. I have also been informed that there is a young woman in this monster’s grasp. A woman named Isabella. I am now in the pursuit to rescue this innocent child of God before this beast can lure her into the darkness. I only pray it is not too late.”
Elizabeth stopped reading. She was beginning to put the pieces together, “It has to be him….Alucard.”
Just as she had said his name, she heard the doors of the library being opened. She listened as two sets of feet echoed against the tiled floor. She could easily pick up the sound of a heartbeat, a rather calm heartbeat. She figured that it had to belong to Walter. As for the other person, she heard no heartbeat at all. That person’s footsteps were also too heavy to belong to Seres. She returned to reading the journal, as if she had not realized that the two were there.
Eventually she looked up, “Good Evening Walter.”
Walter smiled at her as he placed the cup of tea he had made for her, down on the table next to her, “Good Evening Ms. Elizabeth. I hope you slept well.”
“Oh yes I did.”
"So the room is to your liking?"
"Yes Walter it's very nice. Good evening Vampire,” she smiled as she glanced at Alucard from head to toe.
"I have a name you know," Alucard said back to her.
"I know you have a name. But I want to know if you know my name.”
“Elizabeth,” Alucard said softly.
"Very good. We weren't technically introduced properly...Alucard,” she said trying not to reveal the sensation she got out of this all and mighty vampire saying her name like he did just now.
"Miss Elizabeth, Alucard and Miss Victoria were instructed to teach you how to use our weapons."
"But I have my own," she said taking a sip of her tea; thinking to herself how annoyed she was about this little announcement, "Why should I have to learn yours?"
"Because Sir Integra wishes for you to learn them. You are working for our organization so you might as well learn them," Alucard came close to barking at her.
Elizabeth stood up, "Then I guess I should learn them. Where is Victoria anyway?"
"I left her downstairs."
"Not all tied up is she?" Elizabeth replied with a sly grin on her face.
Alucard couldn't help but smirk, "No that was the other night."
Elizabeth's expression changed after he had said that. That tidbit of information was something she didn't really need to know, let alone picture in her mind. But it was too late, her mind pictured finding Seres all bound and gagged like a sex slave. Just the mere thought of it displeased her.
Master," Seres said almost out of breath, "You have to teach me how to go through things."
"Not until you drink blood nightly like a proper vampire."
"Ah come on master!"
"I said no!" Alucard lost control of his voice for a brief moment, yelling at Seres when he didn't entend to. He glanced sideways at Elizabeth who was reading her book, she acted as though she did not even hear him.
"Miss Victoria," Walter said trying to break the ackward silence that followed Alucard's burst of anger, "Would you mind accompaning me to the shooting range?"
"Oh come on," Seres yelled as she followed Walter out the door, "I just bloody got up here!"
Elizabeth couldn't help but let a small laugh escape her lips as she continued to read her book. Alucard, of course, heard her laughter which made him turn towards her. As Walter and Seras left; an awkward moment fell between them. Elizabeth continued to read from the enormous book while Alucard stood there and stared at her.
"You can sit down Alucard.”
I know that," he replied.
"Then do it and stop starting at me,” she said very straightforward and very commanding.
Elizabeth glanced at Alucard out of the corner of her eye as she saw him smirk at her. The sound of the chair next to her being pulled against the floor distracted her as she watched him sit down, resting his right leg over his left knee.
“You are pretty calm for being around a powerful vampire,” Alucard’s deep voice said.
"I've been staking vampires since I was five years old," she said, turning the page of the book, trying to make it appear like she didn’t care what he was saying to her.
"What are you reading?"
"The journal of Abraham Van Hellsing."
Alucard laughed, "Well I could tell you anything you coule ever wnat to know."
"I guess you could," she said looking up at him, "You being older then dirt."
"You're very brave to talk to the Vampire King like that."
"The Vampire King and the Hellsing's family pet."
After a moment of no smart ass comeback and the sweet sound of silence, Elizabeth couldn’t help but smile. She knew all about him, she knew that he was most likely the most powerful creature on the face of the earth. As she thought of that, she realized there must be more. For how could a powerful being such as Alucard, stay in the position of lapdog to Hellsing and the church?
"Looks like I struck a nerve," she said, breaking the silence.
"No nerve but you are correct. I am a servant, a lap dog. However I am only a slave to my passions."
Once she had heard him say the word ‘passions’ her thoughts changed. Being brought up in a convent with monks and nuns was rather difficult for her to really know anything about desires, passions…lust. She had been taught the physical technicalities of sex and that it was a sin before you were married; however it still intrigued her. She had always wondered what it would be like to finally be in the arms of a man that would do all he could to worship every inch of her body and then the ecstasy that followed. Then her thoughts changed, what if that would happen between her and Alucard; imagining that he had to have years of practice under her belt.
“You’re a virgin, aren’t you?”
Elizabeth looked up quickly breaking her thoughts, "What did you just say?"
Alucard shrugged his shoulders, "I simply asked if you were a virgin. I figured you were since you have a heartbeat; full vampires do not. Then there's the fact that I don't understand how a female dhampir sits right before me."
"I had a twin brother. When we were still zygotes inside our mother the gene was there and then I split off from him; taking the gene with me," she smiled softly, "Or at least that's what I've been told. Besides I'm sure you had a heartbeat."
Alucard was quiet for a moment, "I did but that was very long ago."
"What made it stop?"
"A stake...delivered by Abraham Van Hellsing...and there was only one thing that ever made it beat."
Elizabeth looked at him, listening intently to what he was saying, "What?"
"A woman," he said softly.
She smiled slightly, "A woman? You mean the Great Alucard can love?"
"No but I did love her,” he replied, a hidden sorrow added in his voice this time.
"Tell me about her,” Elizabeth asked. This was the first time she had ever seen of heard of the Almighty vampire Alucard seemed to let his guard down and show some emotion.
He shook his head, "I can't remember. All I remember from that time was this feeling of being completely happy for the first time in my miserable, dark life. Then I remember the feeling of that stake piercing right next to my heart. I can't even remember her name."
"Isabella?" she blurted out without thinking.
"What?" Alucard asked.
Elizabeth turned the journal back a couple of pages, searching for something, "I can across the name of a woman named Isabella who was saved by Abraham Van Hellsing himself."
‘The Princess Isabella was found in time before the horrid beast could claim he, making her his vampyric bride.’
That's it," Alucard said, "I remember now. She was an Italian Princess. We were to be married so there would be an alliance between Italy and Romania. I rememeber now...her fair skin...her dark hair...her piercing dark eyes...her..." he stopped; realizing that he was not just describing Isabella...he was describing Elizabeth.
‘We returned Isabella to her home in Italy. However a month later, we received word that she had died from an unknown disease.”
"That's a shame," Elizabeth said as she stopped reading, "Do you ever miss her?"
"I use to but not anymore," he said as he stared down at her.
Elizabeth was still reading the text written about Isabella. She thought that maybe there would be some clue that could lead her to more information about this princess, the only one that has every taken Alucard’s heart. She then turned her head towards him to ask him something when she was met with his face right in front of hers, their lips brushing against one another’s. This of course shocked Elizabeth but it also brought a strange feeling with it. Just from that mere contact, she felt this spark, a surge of energy go throughout her. She concentrated on this feeling as long as she could until it was broken from Alucard moving.
"So....an unknown disease? Little odd don't you think,” she said trying to end the awkward moment they had just shared; hoping she was blushing.
"Yes but it was common back then."
"Yeah but she was with you before hand," Elizabeth started out.
"I didn't do anything with her if that's what you are implying."
"Nothing? Not even vampyric or sexual, for that matter? From the way you described her how could you not?"
"She wasn't like any other woman I could of easily sedued and had my vampryic way with. She was different. She was too precious, too innocent. She knew what I was and she didn't care. She loved me for the humanity that I possessed back then and she was the one who gave me my humanity back."
"How sweet....a beauty and the beast true story...no offense."
“It's fine. I've come to terms with the fact that I am a monster."
"You don't seem like one to me," Elizabeth said softly.
Alucard couldn't help but smile as he heard footsteps coming up behind them.
"Alucard! What exactly are you doing?" Sir Integra asked him.
"Just talking with Ms. Elizabeth here."
"You're suppose to be showing her our weapons."
"Walter and Seres are setting up the targets right now sir," Elizabeth said as she stood up, "Perhaps we should head down there now."
"Good idea," Alucard said; leading the way out of the library and down the hall. Elizabeth followed him; the two of them leaving Integra in the library.
"That was quick. I thought she was going to lecture us like a couple of horny teenagers who just got caught making out," Elizabeth said with a sigh of relief.
Alcuard couldn't help but chuckle at this, "Oh she'll probably lecture me later."
"Oh sorry."
"Don't worry. It was woth it."
"Oh so as it seems you're going to be getting lectures from Integra anyway, here's another lecture for you," she stopped as she watched him turn towards her, "Don't you DARE watch me while I bath ever again. I know you were there watching me last night, so if I realize you're there again then I am going to stake you," she then smiled and walked past him and onward down the stairs.
Alucard was stunned. He couldn't believe that she could sense him. He had never met a slayer that had ever known when he was lurking in the shadows.
Hmmm I'm really impressed now," Alucard said to himself as he followed her down the stairs to the shooting range.

“Walter?”
“Yes sir Integra?” Walter’s voice said coming through the intercom on Integra’s desk.
“I need you to call Seres up here. I wish to speak with her,” Integra replied while putting out the end of her cigar.
